SDA experts on how they have incorporated automation and the use of AI in their firms with just a few of their highlights.
Nikki Pierce, CDFA, Knowledge Manager for Clark Nexsen Inc, an architectural and engineering firm that was established in 1920. As Knowledge Manager, she is responsible for curating the practice knowledge of the firm and facilitating this intelligence among all employees. She works closely with the Executive Leadership, Communications and Practice Technology teams provide current, clear and easily found resources and policies. This year, Nikki will celebrate her 25th year anniversary with the firm.
Jennifer Greene, CDFA, Director of Marketing at Ronnette Riley Architect, a Woman Business Enterprise founded in 1987. She is the SDA National Secretary and Past President/Director of the SDA New York Chapter. Jennifer is a Certified Design Firm Administrator and an SDA member since 1992.
Elena Gutierrez, CDFA, Administrative Assistant, Langan
Elena Gutierrez, CDFA, is the lead administrative assistant for the civil engineering and survey departments in Langan’s New York City office. Since joining Langan in 2015, these two teams have nearly doubled in size to 70 people and Elena’s efforts have been instrumental in supporting that growth. Some of her integral roles include overseeing Department of Buildings interactions, vendor relationships and vehicle fleet for our survey team, and coordinating multiple technical deliverables to multiple clients each business day. Elena is an exemplary teammate and sets a consistent high standard for client service.
Elena is also the current president, New York Chapter, of the Society for Design Administration (SDA). For over 60 years, SDA has been the professional development organization for design firm professionals in the A/E/C industry. Elena joined the SDA in 2015 and quickly took on a leadership role attending lunchtime roundtables, programs, and numerous social events. As Vice President for the 2021 term, Elena’s responsibilities included correspondence secretary and membership, and she has served on the Marketing, Membership (Chair), and Data Management Committees. Elena was awarded the 2019 SDA NY Member of the Year Award and the NY Chapter’s 2020 SDA National Star Award.
